Supporting Better Regional Planning Through Earlier Coordination & Shared Understanding

During the research process, we engaged in discussions with various regulatory and planning stakeholders while also identifying a broader group of regulators, planning authorities, and public bodies that should be included in the conversation about Data Center Water Management.

How much additional demand could AI infrastructure create?

Which growth assumptions appear most credible?

How should future infrastructure requirements, particularly in terms of Data Center Water Planning, be assessed?

And how should regions prepare for these developments when many of the underlying assumptions remain uncertain?

Much like utilities and operators, many regulators and planning bodies are tasked with helping regions prepare not only for today's requirements but also for long-term growth that may unfold over decades, ensuring Data Center Water Resilience.

For that reason, there was broad agreement that these perspectives need to be part of the wider discussion.
